How much does Google Ads cost per month?

2 min read
Short answer

Google Ads has no fixed price. You set your own daily budget and pay per click. What a click costs depends on your industry and on how many others are bidding on the same keyword. On top of that, you pay for management if you outsource it. Agencies often charge a flat fee or 10 to 20 percent of the ad budget for that.

With Google Ads you don't buy a package. You set an average daily budget. On a busy day Google may go over it, but across the whole month you stay within your budget.

Cost 1: the clicks

You pay when someone clicks on your ad. The price per click isn't fixed. It is set by how many others are bidding on the same keyword. In a competitive industry you pay more per click than in a niche.

Cost 2: the management

Someone has to set up and adjust the campaigns. If you do it yourself, it costs time. If you outsource it, agencies charge a flat monthly fee or a share of the budget, often 10 to 20 percent.

Cost 3: the page they land on

A click that ends up on a page that isn't about the ad is money thrown away. So budget for a good landing page as well.

Start small and measure

Start with an amount you can afford to lose for a month. Track your cost per lead for each keyword. What works gets more budget; what doesn't gets switched off.
