GoogleHow long does SEO take to work?

Anyone who promises you a place on page one within a month is promising something nobody controls. What you can know is how it usually unfolds.
What Google itself says
Google's own guide says every change needs time: some take effect within a few hours, others only after several months. Google recommends waiting a few weeks before you judge whether something has helped.
The first weeks
Google first has to find your pages and add them to its index. After that you appear, usually a long way from the top. One new domain we launched had an average position of about 20 after a few weeks. That is normal, and at that point it still brings in few visitors.
The months after that
First you see impressions go up, then your position, and clicks come last. If you only watch traffic, you'll think it isn't working by month two, while your impressions in Google Search Console are already climbing.
What speeds it up
A site that has been around for a while, a complete Google Business Profile, and links from other sites. And patience: quit after two months and you've paid for the work without getting the payoff.
